About Koh Kam

home_dji02681111-1.jpg

They are undeveloped and rarely visited by foreigners.
If you encounter anyone, it will likely be local residents hitching a ride on a small long-tail boat to this undiscovered gem of an island. The Kam archipelago consists of five islands of jungle-covered mountains.

Mangrove Tour
The main part of the boat journey takes you through the mainland mangroves behind the islands of Koh Kho Khao, Koh Prathong and Koh Ra. Protected from waves this is not only the most comfortable speedboat route in our area – the landscape you will see is spectacular, nearly unpopulated and rarely visited.
This part takes you also way back into Thailand’s history, so we will give you in-depth information about this interesting area and it’s nature as we go along the way.

Traveling the mangroves by speedboat requires excessive knowledge of the area and features underwater because it is very shallow – hence we are the only operator who can travel safely in these waters providing you with an exclusive experience.

The travel route close to the mainland guarantees a comfortable boat ride in any conditions.

Khao Khwai Lagoon
A good part of the day you will spend at this spectacular lagoon, where we will also serve you lunch. Apart from a ranger station and a very basic toilet facility, there is nothing else on this island. You will have enough time to go swimming and snorkeling on your own or explore the small viewpoint.

This tour is perfect for everybody who seeks islands and landscapes away from crowds and a relaxed tour schedule without time pressure.

Weather & Sea Conditions
Between November and January – especially around Christmas and New Years – steady northerly winds regularly create short bumpy waves, which can make parts of the boat rides uncomfortable. Although this does not affect the safety of the boat rides, we cannot guarantee enjoyable boat rides to every individual on every given day. We experienced a wide range of individual guest reactions to these conditions. As the Family Tour and Koh Kam tour do not require the speedboat to leave sheltered waters at any time, this does apply to all tours except Family Tour and Koh Kam tours.
From February on weather and sea conditions are usually very calm and comfortable.

Note
We reserve the right to change or adjust the itinerary of the tour if necessary due to weather changes or any other unforeseen circumstances.
